You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodworks, altars and paintings.

Day 1: Cusco, Huayllabamba

INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – DAY 1

Early in the morning you will head Km 82 from where you will continue along the Urubamba River to the first archaeological site "Llaqtapata". Here you will enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting. After that you will continue into the side valley starting to gain altitude until you get to the last village named Huayllabamba where you will camp.

 

Overnight in Tent Camp

Meals included: lunch & dinner

Day 2: Huayllabamba, Pacaymayo

INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – DAY 2

After a healthy breakfast you will start climbing up to the first pass "Warmiwañusca" (4200 Mt/ 14'200 Ft). The climb will take most of the morning. From here you will descend for about 2 hours into the valley to our next camp "Pacaymayo".

 

Overnight in Tent Camp

Meals included: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Maximum Altitude: 4226 masl / 13866 ft

Minimum Altitude: 2954 masl / 9694 ft

Campsite Altitude: 3500 masl / 11480 ft

Day 3: Pacaymayo, Wiñaywayna

INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – DAY 3

You will start the day with the ascent of the second pass "Runcuracay" (3900 Mt/ 13'800 Ft) and descend on the other side for about 2 hours to the beautiful archaeological site "Sayacmarca". You will continue on the original stone path of the Incas through semi-tropical cloud forest onto the third pass "Phuyupatamarca" (3800 Mt/ 13'600 Ft). From here you will go downhill to our camp at "Wiñaywayna" (one of the most beautiful sites in the area for its construction and setting).

 

Overnight in Tent Camp.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna, Machu Picchu, Cusco 

INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

Early morning, after a tasty breakfast, you will hike another 2 hours through cloud forest to the famous sun gate "Intipunku" from where you will have the first breathtaking view and best panorama of the mysterious "Machupicchu". A short walk brings you down to the site. After refreshing a little you will visit "the lost city of the Incas" in a guided tour for app. 2 hrs. After that you will descend by bus to the village named AguasCalientes. After lunch you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer by bus to Cusco.
